Allergy Immunotherapy

AccuMix compounds patient-specific allergy immunotherapy using FDA-licensed allergen extracts, supporting long-term desensitization for allergic rhinitis, asthma, and environmental sensitivities—with clear documentation and pharmacist support.

Immunotherapy

Allergy immunotherapy helps the immune system build tolerance to specific allergens through gradually increasing exposure. A licensed clinician selects targets (e.g., pollens, dust mites, animal dander—and, for some SLIT programs, certain foods) and directs dosing, build-up, and maintenance.

AccuMix compounds patient-specific immunotherapy only after receiving a valid prescription. Preparations follow applicable USP standards (including the Allergenic Extracts section of USP 797) and state/federal requirements; compounded medications are not reviewed or approved by the FDA.

Which option is right for me?

SCIT

Choose SCIT when your clinician recommends in-clinic injections for environmental allergens and supervised build-up.

SLIT

Choose SLIT when your clinician prefers daily home dosing—including programs that address environmental and some food allergens.

Your prescriber determines eligibility, targets, and schedule based on history, testing, and goals.

Safety & expectations (patient education)

  • SCIT: Expect possible local redness/itching/swelling at injection sites. In-clinic observation is required after injections. Rarely, systemic reactions can occur; clinics maintain emergency protocols.
  • SLIT: May cause mouth/throat itching or mild swelling, especially early on. Report persistent or worsening symptoms to your clinician.

Follow your schedule exactly; do not change dose without prescriber guidance. Keep all products out of reach of children; follow label storage (refrigeration if indicated).

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between SCIT and SLIT?

SCIT = in-clinic injections for airborne allergens. SLIT = home oral drops for airborne and (per prescriber) some food allergens. Both are prescription-only.

Compounded immunotherapy mixtures are not reviewed or approved by the FDA. We compound from FDA-licensed allergen extracts under USP standards after a valid Rx.

Programs typically include a build-up phase and maintenance; timing depends on your clinician’s protocol and your response.

Can SLIT be started via telehealth?

In many states, yes—licensed telehealth clinicians can evaluate and prescribe SLIT when appropriate. SCIT requires an in-person clinic for injections and observation.

To the prescriber’s clinic for administration to the named patient (not for general office-use). SLIT may ship to the patient where permitted.

SCIT: local redness/itching; rarely systemic reactions—hence clinic observation. SLIT: mouth/throat itching early on. Report concerns to your clinician.
